Suven gets 3 European patents on NCEs

With these new patents, Suven now has 7 granted EPO patents on NCEs, which have been validated in the 37 member countries in Europe. The newly granted claims of the patents include the class of selective 5-HT compounds discovered by Suven and are being developed as therapeutic agents and are useful in the treatment of cognitive impairment associated with neuro-generative disorders like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson, schizophrenia, Huntington’s disease and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). “Our pipeline of molecules in the CNS arena that are being developed for cognitive disorders has an estimated $20 billion market potential globally,” Venkat Jasti, chief executive of Suven, stated in a press release on Monday. Suven Life currently has six internally-discovered therapeutic drug candidates, which are in pre-clinical stage of development targeting conditions such as ADHD, dementia, depression and Huntington’s disease. The company’s scrip is currently trading at Rs 25.85 on the BSE, up 4.87 per cent over the previous close of Rs 24.65.
